How can discarded paper become a source of creativity, learning and environmental awareness?

The latest RESPONSIBLE project newsletter takes us to Koprivnica, Croatia, where students, teachers and educational experts from six European countries will gather for the project’s second Learning, Teaching and Training Activity (LTT2), taking place from 6 to 10 October 2026.

Hosted by Osnovna škola Braća Radić, the international mobility will focus on transforming paper waste into useful and artistic products, combining creative recycling workshops with practical sustainability education and intercultural learning.

From Waste to Creativity

Throughout the five-day programme, participants will explore how everyday materials can be given a second life through creativity, experimentation and collaboration.

Working together in international groups, students will take part in practical workshops that connect art, recycling and environmental awareness.

The activities will also provide an opportunity to test and evaluate the RESPONSIBLE Sustainability Curriculum, helping teachers explore how Zero Waste principles can be integrated into subjects such as Art, Geography, Biology and Chemistry.

An exciting part of the project is the development of a Virtual Art Exhibition, which will showcase selected artworks created from waste materials by students across the European partnership.

Through these activities, RESPONSIBLE aims to demonstrate that sustainability education can be creative, engaging and directly connected to students’ everyday experiences.
